The Show Will Go On: 2020 Tony Awards Set to Take Place This Fall
Despite a rough year for the theatre industry, the biggest night on Broadway will take place this fall. Though the date has not yet been set, the Broadway League and American Theatre Wing have announced that the ceremony will occur virtually this fall. In an ordinary year, the nominees come from the shows that opened between the previous May and the following April; this year’s had been scheduled for June 7 at Radio City Music Hall. Turbine Theatre announces an upcoming season of shows!

The festival will take place over several weeks (starting on the 26th of August), and is to be performed next to the Battersea power station in London. One of the many performances is a concert staging of the musical Hair, with an all-star cast, including Layton Williams as Hud, Grace Mouat as Crissy and Jodie Steele as Sheila. Haley Bennett and Peter Dinklage to reprise their roles in “Cyrano” musical movie adaptation
A brand new musical movie is in the works, based on the off-broadway production starring the two stars. Peter Dinklage, who played the lead at Goodspeed Opera House in 2018 and Off-Broadway in 2019 as well as Haley Bennett who played Roxanne in the 2018 production will reprise their roles. According to deadline, Ben Mendelsohn and Brian Tyree will also join the cast. Cyrano was co-created by librettist Erica Schmidt and adapted from Edmond Rostand’s work. Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall is cancelled
Due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis, the Radio City Music Hall’s show has to be called off by MSG Entertainment. This is a first in the Christmas Spectacular’s history since its premiere in 1933. This year’s run was scheduled from November 6, 2020 to January 3, 2031. In a statement, MSG Entertainment said : “We are disappointed for everyone involved with the show, as well as for the many fans who make the Christmas Spectacular a cherished part of their holiday tradition.
