9 years after making her Broadway debut in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “In The Heights”, Jordin Sparks will return to the musical theatre stage in Waitress. She will take on the title role of Jenna for a limited engagement, from September 16 through October 27.

Talking about her return, the American Idol’s star and hit-singer said :

“I’ve missed the Broadway stage ever since I took my final bow in In the Heights in 2010. I am so excited to be able to return to it and serve up some musical pie!”

She’ll be joined on stage by the current cast including Mark Evan as Dr Pomatter, Colleen Ballinger as Dawn, Todrick Hall as Ogie, Charity Angél Dawson as Becky, Ben Thompson as Earl, Richard Kline as Old Joe, and Benny Elledge as Cal.

Waitress opened at the Brooks Atkinson in 2016 and will play its final performance on January 5, 2020, after a run of 33 previews and 1544 performances.
