One week after announcing its Broadway transfer, the hit-musical dropped who will take on the role of Percy Jackson on Broadway, this fall. Just months after wrapping up their 2019 National Tour the whole cast of The Lightning Thief : The Percy Jackson Musical will reprise their roles at the Longacre Theatre.
The cast of the new production, seen off-broadway and on tour will be led by Chris McCarrell (Les Misérables) as Percy Jackson for the third time. He’ll be joined by Kristin Stokes as Annabeth, Jorrel Javier as Grover/Mr.D, Sarah Beth Pfeifer as Clarisse, James Hayden Rodriguez as Luke, Ryan Knowles as Chiron, Jalynn Steele as Sally, and Izzy Figueroa, Sam Leicht, and T. Shyvonne Stewart serving as understudies.
This production will mark the Broadway debut of 9 of the cast member. McCarrell previously made his Broadway debut in the Broadway Revival of Les Misérables at the Imperial Theatre in 2014.
Creative team includes set design by Lee Savage, lightning design by David Lander (Torch Song), sound design by Ryan Rumery (Be More Chill, Fool For Love), costume design by Sydney Maresca (Hand To God), puppet design by Acheson Walsh. It also features hair, wigs and makeup design by Dave Bova (Bandstand) and orchestrations by Wiley DeWeese (First Daughter Suite, Preludes) and Rob Rokicki.
The Lightning Thief : The Percy Jackson Musical will arrive on Broadway in September 20th for 16 weeks only.
