Ahead of its september 27th debut, Ryan Murphy’s new show “The Politician” dropped its first official trailer. And according to this first sneak-peek, Ben Platt is going to have a lot to deal with in this season.

Throughout this season, high-schooler Payton (Ben Platt) will have to deal with assassination plots, problematic classmates who throw homophobic slurs at reporter and a rival who calls herself “a stone cold b*itch with ice water in her veins”, all while exploring his sexuality. A bold and busy program.

Along Ben Platt, the show stars Gwyneth Paltrow as Georgina Hobart, Payton’s mom and Oscar and Tony winner Jessica Lange as Rose, the psycho mother of Payton’s running mate. The cast also includes Bohemian Rhapsody‘s star Lucy Boynton, Zoey Deutch, Bette Midler, Dylan McDermott, David Corenswet, Theo Germaine, Julia Schlaepfer, Rahne Jones and Ben’s Dear Evan Hansen co-star Laura Dreyfuss.

The Politician is set to revolve around the politician aspirations of Payton Hobart, a wealthy Santa Barbarian. Every season is set to depicts a different political race Peyton is involved in.

The Politician will premiere on September 27 on Netflix.
