You want a queen bee? Broadway will have half a dozen starting on February 13, 2020, when the NYC production of SIX will open in the Brooks Atkinson Theatre!
This powerhouse feminist musical features the six ex-wives of Henry VIII, each character based on a female pop singer and performing a different number describing her life and relationship with the king.
The show was written by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss and premiered on the West End, earning five Olivier nominations. The show made its way the US with a May debut at Chicago’s Shakespeare Theatre in a record-breaking limited run and upcoming productions include the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, the Citadel Theatre in Edmonton, and the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts in Saint Paul.
Moss and Jamie Armitage will co-direct the production, which will officially open March 12. Full casting information is forthcoming.
