Broadway’s Frozen to remain closed after the Pandemic

Words by Léna Fontaine The Broadway production of Disney’s Frozen will not reopen at the St James Theatre after the pandemic. Which means the show have played its final performance on March 11, after 26 previews and 825 performances. Broadway to remain close through summer

Words by Léna Fontaine Theatres will remain close until september at least due to the coronavirus outbreak. The news was confirmed by The Broadway League with a date to resume performances is still yet to be determined. As for the dates and performances that were supposed to take place through september 6 2020, Broadway theatres are offering refunds and exchanges. “Repeat Attenders”, a new documentary about musical superfans, will be released on May 16

Saying Goodbye to a Show About Death

Words by Moira Armstrong Beetlejuice, the Broadway adaptation of the 1988 cult classic, has been on an upward trajectory since its opening this past October. The show grossed $1.6 million over Thanksgiving week, smashing Winter Garden records, and has exploded in popularity, in large part due to exposure on social media. Jagged Little Pill begins previews ahead of Broadway opening

New cast announced for “To Kill A Mockingbird” on Broadway

Words by Léna Fontaine From november 5th, the Broadway production of To Kill A Mockingbird at the Shubert Theatre will feature a brand new cast and ensemble. Previously announced, Ed Harris and Nick Robinson will respectively play  Atticus Finch and Jem Finch. Nina Grollman will reprise the role originated by Celia Keenan-Bolger : Scout Finch. In Comes Company! London Transfer Set for March 2020

Patti LuPone (Brinkhoff/Moegenburg) by Moira Armstrong The 2018 West End interpretation of the 1970 musical Company will transfer to Broadway this spring, beginning previews in the Jacobs Theatre on March 2 and officially opening on composer Stephen Sondheim’s 90th birthday, March 22. This revolutionary production, directed by Marianne Elliott, reverses the genders of the characters, updates the script and, during its London run, won four Olivier Awards.
