Jorge Rivera-Herrans, creator and producer of EPIC, a loose musical adaptation of Homer’s The Odyssey recently announced the release date of the fourth EP “The Circe Saga”. The EP part will be available to stream on all major streaming platforms from february 14th.
The musical, divided in 9 parts, tells the tale of Odysseus’ 20-year journey home through several challenges – being challenged by gods and monsters. The whole saga is made up of 40 songs completely sung-through.
The EP consists of the next 4 songs of the musical after The Ocean Saga and serves as a continuation of the story with those who survived. It will feature Talya Sindel as Circe, Troy Doherty as Hermes, Armando Julián as Eurylochus and Jorge Rivera-Herrans as Odysseus.
In this chapter, Odysseus and his crew will come face to face with the sorceress Circe on her island. As she turned the crew into pigs, Odysseus must once again rely on wit to get through this trial.
The first EP, “The Troy Saga” was released in 2022 and was made available on all major streaming platforms including Spotify where it gathered over 2.5 million streams in three days. In less than 12 hours, EPIC: The Troy Saga was already on top of the charts on iTunes, being the #1 soundtrack.
The second EP, “The Cyclop Saga” was released on January 27th. This time, the storyline included Odysseus battling with Polyphemus the cyclop.
The third EP, “The Ocean Saga” was released on December 25th 2023. In this EP, they encountered the wind god and tried to get her help to get trough a storm. On the last song, they came face to face with Poseidon, the sea god.
According to its creator, the full musical will feature multiple musical genres including classic pop, rock, orchestral and electronic. Throughout the show, each character will be paired with a specific instrument that represents them musically: Odysseus being the guitar, Athena the piano and Poseidon the trumpet.
