Royalty descended on Banqueting Hall, the remaining part of Whitehall Palace built by Henry VIII, on October 28th to celebrate the three-year anniversary and vinyl launch of the cast recording of Six!
The event was streamed live on TikTok and hosted by Tia Kofi from RuPaul’s Drag Race and a superfan of the show. Tia was joined by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, who wrote the musical, to discuss the writing of the songs. The queens featured on the cast recording: Renee Lamb (Aragon), Christina Modestou (Boleyn), Natalie Paris (Seymour), Aimie Atkinson (Howard) and Izuka Hoyle (Parr) sat down and shared memories of the making of the recording and being apart of the show. Unfortunately, Genesis Lynea (Cleves) was unable to attend but recorded a video quoting some of her queen’s song “Get Down”.
The cast and creatives then answered a few audience questions before performing an early draft of the “Megasix”.Toby Marlow, who was accompanying them on the piano, was also playing Cleves for the occasion.
Before the event ended, it was revealed the cast recording had gone Gold, marking 100,000 sales! To celebrate this, each queen received gold discs commemorating the achievement. The recording has been a major success with millions of streams, becoming the second most-streamed album behind Hamilton.
Congratulations to Six on this accomplishment and their lengthy reign over the world!
