Based on the 1978 hit-movie starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, the new spinoff series “Grease : The Rise of the Pink Ladies” is now heading to Paramount Plus after HBO Max decided to not go ahead with the project. 

“Rise Of The Pink Ladies”, an hour-long musical comedy, will tell the story of Rizzo, Jan, Marty and Frenchy and how thet came together to form the Pink Ladies before heading to Rydell High for their senior year. It will feature a handful of new songs as well as iconic numbers from the musical. 

It is one the two prequels project currently in development. It follows “Summer Lovin”, a movie centered around Sandy and Danny’s summer flirt.
