Hadestown announces a National Tour

The Tony Awards-winning musical ‘HADESTOWN’ will launch a National Tour in fall 2020. The news was announced on ABC’s “Good Morning America” this morning following a performance by the Broadway Cast of a medley of “Way Down Hadestown” and “Wait For Me”.

The show will play over 30 cities accross the country including Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, New Orlean, Philadelphia and Washington D.C. More cities and stops will be announced later on.

The curent Broadway cast includes two-time Tony nominee Eva Noblazeda as Eurydice, Reeve Carney as Orpheus and Tony-winner André DeShield as Herles. Also in the cast, Tony nominees Amber Grey as the lady of the underworld, Persephone and Patrick Page as Hades, king of the Underworld.

Hadestown first premiered Off-Broadway at the New York Theatre Workshop in 2016 before heading to London’s National Theatre and Canada. On April 17, the musical opened on Broadway at the Walter Kerr theatre. At the 2019 Tony Awards, the critically-acclaimed musical was nominated for 14 awards, taking home 8 of them, including the one for Best Musical.
