London, welcome to our world! The iconic musical based on the hit movie is hopping across the pond for a 2020 opening on London’s West End and will feature the addition of Roy Orbison and Bill Dees’ hit song “Oh, Pretty Woman” during the curtain call.
The opening date coincides with the previously announced first national tour, which is set to open October 2020 at the Providence Performing Arts Center in Providence, Rhode Island.
And the first international production in Hamburg, Germany, which opens Sept. 29, 2019, received lead casting today. German theatre stars Patricia Meeden (“Sister Act”) and Mark Seibert (“Dance of the Vampires”) will play Vivian and Edward, respectively. Full casting to join the duo will be announced soon.
The current Broadway cast of “Pretty Woman: The Musical” at the Nederlander Theatre includes Samantha Barks as Vivian, three-time Tony Award nominee Andy Karl as Edward, Tony Award nominee Orfeh as Kit, Eric Anderson as Mr. Thompson, Charlie Pollock as Philip Stuckey and Kingsley Leggs as James Morse.
