Dive into the mystical world of the occult at Rhythm&Ruse, situated within the legendary Vaults in Waterloo. Set to unveil its secrets on August 29th, this clandestine secret society of magicians promises an unforgettable evening of revelry in an immersive experience unlike any other. Expect world-class magic, captivating live jazz, and sultry cabaret performances from some of London’s top immersive talent, all accompanied by free-flowing cocktails from the award-winning Tom Savano. 

Residing in the dimly lit arches of Waterloo, Rhythm&Ruse invites guests on a journey to discover the magic of the Jazz Age, where unmarked doors and whispered passwords unlock a world of mystery and glamour. A night of close-up magic, live jazz and unlimited prohibition cocktails awaits, with charming hosts spinning tales and cracking jokes throughout. Amidst the flickering candlelight, nine remarkable magicians will subtly weave between tables, each offering their unique brand of close-up magic. Guests will delight as they witness a variety of mesmerising tricks up close, with the assurance that each visit promises a fresh and different experience. Meanwhile, large-scale illusions and captivating cabaret performances will unfold onstage, adding to the enchantment of the evening.

The art deco-inspired venue brimming with romantic décor will feature a series of 12-seat round tables offering prime views of the stage from every seat. Two additional hosts move between tables to foster camaraderie and provide a welcoming atmosphere. As the night deepens, the secret society of magicians members will offer tarot readings in character, gradually revealing the intriguing backstory and immersing guests in a world of mystery and enchantment.

The Vaults is celebrating their tenth year London’s home for immersive and alternative arts, aiming to collaborate with emerging art and champion the daring of the industry. We look forward to Rhythm&Ruse bringing a little magic to our tunnels, as they transform us into a house of occult and otherness. Under the direction of Fania Grigoriou, a longtime collaborator with Punchdrunk since 2013, and brought to life by Mallory Gracenin and Sam Booth, esteemed figures from Punchdrunk’s Burnt City and other international immersive productions, Rhythm&Ruse emerges as an original concept show crafted and performed by an expert team with extensive experience in immersive theatre worldwide. Additionally, Naomi Banks, one of the most exciting talents to emerge from London’s burgeoning Neo Soul and Jazz scene, lends her musical direction to the production.

As guests immerse themselves in the lively swinging entertainment, they will have access to a delicious array of free-flowing beverages featuring Tom Savano’s premium hand-crafted cocktails. Indulge in acclaimed classics such as the Mezcal Margarita, Negroni, and Raspberry Gin Gimlet—all included in the ticket price. Alongside these signature cocktails, guests can choose from a diverse selection of beers, cider, spirits, mixers, and a variety of red, white, and sparkling wines alongside an assortment of soft drinks, no-alcohol, and low-alcohol choices, and a menu of light bites from gourmet popcorn and charcuterie to giant meringues and handmade chocolate. 

Saturday and Sunday lates at Rhythm&Ruse(from 10pm)bring a different atmosphere, where cabaret is king! The Vaults provide the perfect backdrop for 60-minute sets featuring emerging and established artists—from comedians to musicians, burlesque to drag, and circus to magic. With open seating tickets priced at just £20, it’s a fantastic opportunity to catch rising stars whilst evoking the nostalgia of variety and showmanship, offering guests a delightful journey back to the golden era of entertainment.
