Calling all fans of Hamilton and Moana! Lin-Manuel Miranda pleased our ears on may 21st by dropping an early demo of his oscar-nominated track “How Far I’ll Go” from Moana, featuring the one and only Phillipa Soo.

According to Miranda, the track was recorded in a dressing room at The Public Theatre back in 2015, when Soo and Miranda were rehearsing for the Off-Broadway debut of Hamilton.

About the record, Lin-Manuel Miranda said “This is my first or second draft. I don’t know why it‘s so dingdang high, but Pippa can do anything.”

Moana was released in 2016. Soon after, the movie anthem written by Lin-Manuel Miranda “How Far I’ll Go” was nominated for Best Original Song. Pursuing his work with Disney, the film version of Hamilton will be released on Disney+ on June 3rd.
