Producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender have confirmed that Tom Felton will be back playing Draco Malfoy in the Broadway production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at the Lyric Theatre.
The british actor rose to fame playing Draco malfoy, Harry Potter’s arch-nemesis, in the saga, from 2001 to 2011. Tom felton will return to his beloved character for 19 weeks only, playing the role from 11 November 2025 to 22 Mars 2026.
About rreturning to the magical world, Tom Felton said:
“Being a part of the Harry Potter films has been one of the greatest honours of my life. Joining this production will be a full-circle moment for me, because when I begin performances in Cursed Child this fall, I’ll also be the exact age Draco is in the play. It’s surreal to be stepping back into his shoes – and of course his iconic platinum blond hair – and I am thrilled to be able to see his story through and to share it with the greatest fan community in the world. I look forward to joining this incredible company and being a part of the Broadway community.”
This marks the first time a member of the original Harry Potter saga has joined the stage production.
Tom Felton’s other stage credits include 2:22 A Ghost Story in the West End, and Gareth Farr’s A Child of Science at Bristol Old Vic directed by Matthew Dunster.
Tom Felton’s recent film credits include They Will Kill You, and Fackham Hall. Other film credits include Rise of the Planet of the Apes, A United Kingdom, In Secret, Feed, Ophelia, and Megan Leavey.
The current Broadway cast of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child includes Erik C. Peterson as Scorpius Malfoy, Alex Serino as Albus Potter, Matthew James Thomas as Harry Potter, Rachel Christopher as Hermione Granger, Sarah Killough as Ginny Potter, Daniel Fredrick as Ron Weasley, Aaron Bartz as Draco Malfoy, Ayanna Nicole Thomas as Rose Granger-Weasley and Kristen Martin as Delphi Diggory.
