Sing Street to transfer to London in summer 2025

Sing Street is set to hit the town next summer! The musical will play at the Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith, West London from July 8 for a limited run to August 23.

The show is billed as A Lyric Hammersmith Theatre Theatre Production but it’s being led by Broccoli, as was Sing Street’s first iteration at Off Broadway’s New York Theatre Workshop in December 2019.

Sing Street’s story takes place in Dublin, 1982. Everyone is out of work. Thousands are seeking bluer skies across the Irish Sea. Sixteen-year-old Conor and his schoolmates turn to music to escape troubles at home and impress a mysterious girl.

Sing Street was supposed to mark the Broadway debut of 14 young cast member but performances had to be postponed due to the spread of the covid-19. SING STREET is directed by Tony Award winner Rebecca Taichman (Indecent), features a book by Tony Award winner Enda Walsh (Once), music and lyrics by Gary Clark (front man of Danny Wilson) & John Carney (“Modern Love”), choreography by Sonya Tayeh (Moulin Rouge), and is based on the motion picture written and directed by John Carney.

The London production is being produced by Barbara Broccoli.
