Casting announced for the west end production of Hadestown

Casting has been announced for the west end premiere of Hadestown which will open at the Lyric Theatre in London from Saturday 10 February 2024.

Hadestown will return to the west end fiver years after its sold out run at the National Theatre in 2018.

The West End cast will include Donal Finn as Orpheus and Grace Hodgett Young as Eurydice. They will be joined n stage by Zachary James as Hades, Melanie La Barrie as Hermes and Gloria Onitiri as Persephone.

The rest of the cast includes Bella Brown, Madeline Charlemagne and Allie Daniel as The Fates. Lauren Azania, Tiago Dhont Bamberger, Beth Hinton-Lever, Waylon Jacobs and Christopher Short will appear as the workers with Lucinda Buckley, Ryesha Higgs, Miriam Nyarko and Simon Oskarsson as Swings.

Hadestown takes you on an unforgettable journey to the underworld and back, entertwining two mythic love stories – that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of King hades and his wife Persephone. A deeply resonant and definitely hopeful theatrical experience, Hadestown invites you to imagine how the world could be. 

Hadestown features music, lyrics and books by Anaïs Mitchell, choregraphy by David neumann, scenic design by Rachel Haunck, costume design by Michael Krass. They are joined by bradley King (lightning design), Nevin Steinberg and Jessica Paz (sound design), Liam Robinson (music supervision and vocal arrangements), Michael Chorney and Todd Sickafoose (arrangements and orchestrations) and Ken Cerniglia (dramaturgy).

Casting for the London production is by Jacob Sparrow.

Hadestown is produced in London by mara Isaacs, Dale Franzen, Hunter Arnold, Tom Kirdahy and the National Theatre in association with JAS theatricals.
